Why installation teams need shared access to QC jobs

Real structured cabling projects rarely have just one person on the tools. A lead installer might set up the job and locations, while two technicians walk the panels on the same day. The project manager back in the office needs to see progress, and the client wants the PDF emailed to them before handover.

NetworkQC handles all of this with a simple role-based sharing model. The job owner invites team members by email and assigns each one a role. Technicians can test ports in real time from their own phones. Every status change is logged with a timestamp and the name of the person who made it — creating a tamper-evident audit trail that protects both the contractor and the client.

Project managers with Read Only access can view progress without interfering with testing. Admins can manage locations and panels the same as the owner. And when the work is done, anyone with view access can trigger the email report to go straight to the project manager's inbox.

How team collaboration works in NetworkQC

1

Invite by email

Open any job and go to the Team Access section. Enter a colleague's email and assign a role. They'll see the shared job immediately in their dashboard.

2

Assign the right role

Read Only — view and download reports. Contributor — mark ports pass/fail. Admin — full access including managing locations, panels, and team sharing.

3

Audit trail and email report

Every port change is recorded in the activity log — who changed it, from what, to what, and when. Email the PDF report to the project manager directly from the panel screen.
